Official Weekly Bulletin of the Rotary Club of Lafayette, CA

Debbie "el comandante" Cooper opened the meeting with Chuck Vogel acting as Greeter and giving some thought to today, or was that a thought for the day?! Whatever!
Guests: Steve Paddock from the Orinda club Jon Sigworth, Andy's nephew Dr. Armando San Diego, a new urgent care facility in Laf.
Chief Eric was in attendance as opposed to absentia this week. WooHoo!!!w Bob Shusta intro'd Eva Davidson visiting our club for the first time.

Annc'ed : Raffle tickets were handed out to all members with strict instructions to sell the $50 worth or pay for them yourself. No options!
Norma spoke of the book drive that need to be paperbacks, not hard cover due the weaponry potential.
Maurice Williams spoke of the Candy Scramble, so sign up to help out John Sherry reminded us about the Concert at the Res., etc., etc., etc.

Happy Dollars and Fines by Anna Stephenson:
Maurice W. Was fined for a large add in the Lamorinda Weekly, and was helped out in his defense by Alicia Cragholm. Of course, it was to no avail.
Alicia was on a work trip and avoided being fined at all costs.
Chief Eric paid his burglary wager of $5 per event, but loves attending Rotary when he's able.
Wendy Scheck was photo'd with her dog on the Reliez Peak Trail. No easy task getting cooperation from a dog.
Barry Toumagian was recognized for his return and the bundle of pistachios he brought.
Kelly Hood, returning after foot surgery, thanked us all for the good wishes and orchid.
Larry Blodgett gave $10 for missed meetings and YADA! YADA! YADA!
And once again we put up with Bill Eames signing Happy B-Day to Dino Riggio, who spent his b-day in Tahoe at Bob Shustas place and loved it!

Speaker: Nephew of Andy and Wendy Scheck, As a paraplegic, caused by an accident in India, he has started a pilot project to mentor fellow disabled folks in returning to society as productive members of Indian society. The ESCIP House is his main project, where the disabled can live and learn a new life. In India, the environment is extremely hostile toward the disabled, who are generally just ignored and left to die. He has moved to Delhi, India to pursue his dream of setting up this transitional living program to help similarly disabled people. ESCIP stands for "Empowering Spinal Chord Injured People". This person, in my estimation, deserves our support. Since I am the upcoming Int'l Club Chairman, I will check out the possibilies.m

Raffle: $2 , $5 Barry Toumajian
