Our Community: Lafayette, CA
Lafayette Rotary is involved in a number of projects that benefits our local community and the international community.
One of our signature events is the Great Musicians Festival (aka “Concert at the Res”) that is held every May at the Lafayette Reservoir band stand that was built and financed by Lafayette Rotary and donated to the East Bay Municipal Water District for the benefit of all communities.
This is a yearly concert featuring performances by local youth performing arts groups, and proceeds support music programs in schools throughout the area including our partner public schools in Oakland.
We also put on the annual Candy Scramble in the Lafayette Plaza Park every March or April, which is a family friendly event that brings families together to celebrate the spring season.
We also raise money for causes such as childhood education, feeding the hungry in Contra Costa County, building schools in Afghanistan, Clean Water in international communities, and more. We also engage in projects to clean up and spruce up the streets and public facilities in the city of Lafayette. Additionally, we partner with the City of Lafayette and the Chamber of Commerce on initiatives and programs. Rotarians are encouraged to give their time and resources to help on these projects.
